CLOCK FUNERAL HOME
OF WHITE LAKE
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
EMBALMING:
Embalming is a procedure that is performed to allow for safe handling and temporary preservation of a human remains. We require embalming for
open-casket viewing. In Michigan, embalming is REQUIRED if the deceased cannot be buried, cremated or entombed in a mausoleum WITHIN
48 HOURS OF DEATH.
If there is to be no viewing and you desire no embalming of your loved one, please tell funeral home personnel
immediately.
CREMATION:
If you choose cremation versus earth burial or entombment in a mausoleum for your loved one, we can
accommodate any of your wishes.
Funeral home staff needs to know you desire cremation services so they may inquire whether embalming may be performed.
Embalming is NOT required if your loved one is to be taken directly to the crematory with no viewing by the family.
Viewing MAY be possible WITHOUT embalming - by the immediate family only
- PRIVATELY and SOON after death has occurred, but viewing options may be limited.
If there is to be public viewing and visitation, we require embalming for safe handling of your loved one and temporary preservation of the remains.
Cremation CAN follow a traditional public viewing, visitation period and traditional funeral. A
RENTAL casket is available, sparing a family the expense of having to purchase a casket.
In any event, we will need family authorization before any cremation is begun and will ask for your signature. |
